Frans Hals Museum and Teylers Museum are internationally known, De Hallen Haarlem shows work by high-profile artists and Het Dolhuys takes you into the world of the mind. There is also a lot to discover in museums for children.

Dining out
Haarlem is sometimes called the most Flemish city in the North. This applies to architecture, but also applies when it comes to food and drinks. After Maastricht, Haarlem has the most cafés and restaurants in the Netherlands, from specialty restaurants to pubs, from cooking theater to cheese fondue specialists. The favorite café of Haarlemmers: Café Koops, right next to the Grote or St. Bavokerk. For a (2) star restaurant go to the Bokkedoorns in Overveen.

Going out
