Enjoy walking, cycling or swimming in the neighborhood?

The Haarlemmermeer offers attractive opportunities for relaxation and rest in the green. For example in the Haarlemmermeerse forest only 10 minutes drive from Hotel Schiphol A4.

The Haarlemmermeerse Bos is a 115 hectare park-like area around the recreational lake that lies northwest of Hoofddorp. In 1979 the Forest was officially opened to the public. Since then, the Haarlemmermeerse Bos has developed into a regional attraction for day-trippers, hikers, groomers, cyclists, boat campers, swimmers, surfers, dog owners, horse riders and sport fishermen.

Swimming
In the Haarlemmermeerse Bos you can swim in two places, in the Spartel pond and at the Zuidstrand.

Trees & insect path
The Haarlemmermeerse Bos is ideal for walking. There are two beautiful paths to discover: the tree path and the insect path.

  • The tree path is 3 kilometers long. The path, which is partly unpaved, runs along many common tree and shrub species. In total you walk along 67 trees and shrubs.
  • The insect path is 1.5 kilometers long. On the signs along the path you will find information about common insects in the forest. Especially on sunny days you have a great chance to see many insects.

Catering
There are several catering establishments, such as Papa's Beach House.
